Happy September, dear friends...
I hope this month is bringing you many sweet moments of joy!
Summer flew by, (as it always does), but it was certainly savored.
We took a little road trip to the North Shore
and it was very restorative...
I'd love to share some of the beauty with you...
(this is what we heard most days)

We began our journey in Duluth...
such a beautiful and eclectic town

The city is fun and lovely...but were there for the WATER...
seemingly endless, deep blue water...
bliss.

From there we continued North
to the picturesque little town of Grand Marais...

Is anyone familiar with this plant?
The fragrance is extraordinary!
A stop for lunch at the incredible New Scenic Cafe
did not disappoint...
we've never had anything there that was less than stellar...

Sorry about the appearance of that blueberry pie...we dove into it before I realized that I wanted a photo!
:)
Almost everything here is made from fresh, local ingredients...
if you are ever on the Scenic 61 drive, this is a perfect place to feed all of your senses.
And the view is, well...there's a reason it's called scenic...

Now that the air is getting chilly, my mind is on traditions and rituals, one of which is my annual re-reading of this book...

Reading this gem is like being cuddled in the coziest, softest blanket...I find it a wonderful way to get centered and invite the new season.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend!

Dear Irina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to visit. Your pictures are wonderful of the great sea, and I love that little seagull fellow. : ) I went to our lake a few weeks ago, and the water was so low. We need rain in California so very much. Your lunch at the café looks yummy, and do your know blueberry pie is my favorite pie? That picture of the pink blossom plant is so pretty, and I've never seen it before. Your road trip sounds delightful, and the little video you shared gave me peace this morning.
Happy September days, dear Irina.
love, ~Sheri

Dear sister,
ReplyDeleteHappy Octobet! Time indeed flies so fast... I am glad to hear you had a wonderful summer getaway with your family. Love your photos! I have read Sarah's Simple Abundance each year since it came out, but somehow I've never saw your book :( I am off to my favorite bookstore. Thank you for this delightful post. I miss reading Anita's poetry so I am happy you are still posting.
Hi Dearest. I loved seeing your holiday through your camera lens and your awesome sound track..... not to mention a few good culinary experiences. Be well, and enjoy what's left of the fall 2015. Where do these seasons go? They are flying by and by my schedule, the next post will be at Christmas time. xoxo
