As our most special and honored guest, you are invited on a petit gastronomic tour...

We shall begin with the luxurious Cote d'Azur!

Bon Appetit!

The spectacular "Blue Coast" of the French Riviera is known for sublime weather, glamour, and fresh local delicacies...

palomasea

This delightful Salade Nicoise is most refreshing
on a balmy Riviera evening...

palomasea

Please enjoy a sparkling glass of Perrier au Citron, a perfect accompaniment to the brisk sea air....

Let your taste buds now travel north
to the glorious Emerald Coast of La Bretagne....

May we tempt you with a couple of local specialties?

A colder climate requires hardier crepes, n'est-ce pas?
These lovely "galettes de ble noir", or "crepes Bretons" are made in part with buckwheat flour, and are filled with sauteed, dilled mushrooms, and fromage Madrigal...
Certainly, no proper meal of galettes is complete without an ice-cold cider made from the best apples in France....

This one happens to be alcohol-free, for we know you have a long drive ahead of you...

But before continuing on your "Simply Irresistible" adventure, please allow us to cap off the meal in....

PARIS !

And what could this quintessentially Parisian dessert possibly be?

palomasea

Les macarons, of course!
Which flavors will you choose?

palomasea

Ah yes, the classics....chocolat, fraise, et pistache...magnifique!

To accompany these colorful sweets, please enjoy un cafe under the sparkling and romantic Parisian moon and stars....

And to thank you for your most kind visit
to Cafe Gypsy, I would love to give away
Jamie Cat Callan's brand new book!

"Ooh La La" will be released May 28th...
I'll draw the winner May 25th!
Just leave me a comment, and I will enter you in the drawing...
Bonne Chance et Merci!!

Thank you, dear and beautiful Anita, for allowing us all to connect with each other in this fun and fabulous way!

Knowing you, seeing you as regularly as we can make happen and sharing the love for all things French makes this post so extra special for me. I SEE THE YELLOW MOON! And those fabulous little macaroons, in aqua! Patisserie Margo? The music, the ambience and the company here today has given me such a thrill that I believe I need a break, but the weather today....what happened?!

  27. Dear Irina, what a joy to wake up to your lovely comment on my Heifetz blog. It is Sunday morning here and just now I'm off to have bruch with my son, Lee, and his lovely woman friend, Vicki. So I haven't had time to fully look at your blog or even answer you thoughtfully. However, I intend to read all your beautiful posts. Yes, the paintings on my blog are all mine and I think all of the photographs, (not the one on the Heifetz blog, of course, that came from Anita's post by way of Tumbler, I think. But it so represented the feeling that Heifetz's violin music gives me, I couldn't resist. I see by your profile we have many interests in common. More later. Much love, Sandra

  32. Goodness, this is yummy. And, yes, fine dining is one of the many things we do to excess when in France, isn't it? So happy to meet you, I'm coming over from Anita's place. Put me on the list for this book!!

  33. What an enchanting post this is today. I smiled when I saw the macarons because I finally tasted them last year. I just got them at the store, but wouldn't it be nice if they had a little bakery nearby that sells them? I love the picture of the moon, as I have a thing for moon pictures. The Perrier au Citron looks delightful. When my girls went to Paris, they said the food was delicious. I enjoyed visiting France through your lens today. It was very charming, indeed.
