Hello Irina:
ReplyDeleteWhat a feast of delights you offer us here. It is strange how many of these we totally identify with, perhaps we share many of the same interests?
We love the overnight train from Budapest to Venice and do this journey quite often. However, we should so dearly wish that, in reality, it had the elegance of the picture you show here!! Alas, it does not...
YES! YES! YES to EVERYONE of these nostalgic and meaningful things. Tea salons? Oh how our city needs one. Silk pajamas? Yes....to do everything with such style and class.....hand-stirred....oh, the memories of helping my mother in the kitchen, my mom who DID NOT HAVE TO WORK, and on and on....train rides...OH, you are bringing back the memories my friend!
ReplyDeleteSO GOOD TO SEE YOUR NEW POST UP! I have missed you so...Anita
I am in support of bringing back every single one of these wonderful things, especially elegant train travel, red lipstick, tea rooms and champagne fountains.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post.

Midnight Birthday Suppers? I never had one of those - what a magical image! Yes, yes, yes to libraries. Some of my earliest memories are of pleasurable moments tucked away in a little space of my own between rows of books.
ReplyDeleteIrena, I finally posted my Liebster Award blog. It took a couple of weeks as some changes are in the wind for me and they are taking quite a bit of my attention. It was so satisfying to pass it on to some of my favorite bloggers and friends.
THIS IS NOSTALGIA all the way for me. That song...it makes my feet feel the "give" of the worn, hardwood floors of my home, of my dance studio. I remember my pink tights, the firm voice of my dance instructor, and my daddy's firm voice instructing me. LOVE. Ohhh, what would we do without MUSIC, my friend?????
ReplyDeleteAND LA PIÈCE DE RESISTANCE....LES LAPINS DE LA FOIRE!!!! THAT REX RABBIT IS MY FAVORITE! He is the Velveteen Rabbit! And the others....WAITING FOR ALICE, INDEED!
THANK YOU my dearest for sharing the State Fair with me. I so wish I could go to rub the horses noses, play with the bunnies and attempt to perfect my GOAT-MILKING skills!
MUCH LOVE! Anita
THOSE WERE AWESOME JOKES!!!! teeheeee....BEAUTIFUL, WITTY!!!! Now Balzac's grimace has changed into a smile!!!! LOTS OF LOVE! Anita
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool post. Love it, love it, love it.
