To dear Anita, for hosting yet another magical blog party!
We "traveled" through gorgeous Europe, met new friends, and had an overall marvelous time!
pinterest
All this traveling can make one hungry, so I think it is time for a Donna Hay cook up with sweet Dzintra...
The luscious Spring issue is full of beautiful and tempting recipes...
The incredible chocolate cake featured on the cover is one I plan to attempt in the near future, and I hope to post on that.
This time, though, I thought it would be fun to cook some brunch items.
You can always count on Donna Hay for some creative combinations and bright flavors...
First up...
"Smoky Tomato Pan Eggs"
I have never cooked eggs in tomato sauce , but now I am hooked...
So delicious!
The smoked paprika added a rich complexity,
and I garnished with a bit of basil...
The accompaniment suggested was toasted sourdough with feta....
(can't go wrong with that!)
Dessert was in liquid form this time....
Decadent "Iced Mochas"...
A most satisfying, gorgeous meal!
Thank you Donna Hay, and dear Dzintra!
Please visit Dzintra HERE for her mouth-watering cook up...
A splendid weekend to you!
Love and Blessings,
- Irina
Hello Irina,
ReplyDeleteWell, eggs with tomatoes and paprika, now that sounds a perfect combination for Budapest where the tomatoes are amongst the best in the world ( in our view) and paprika is plentiful. Yes, we may well get our housekeeper to give this a go.
It was indeed such fun travelling round Europe, but then we love armchair travelling the world through Blogtopia every day!
Hoping you are well. Have a lovely weekend!
Oh Irina I shall have to re-visit the magazine and check out your delicious choices! Oh that cake.... I made it...the best chocolate cake ever! I am soooo behind...2 issues in fact! I am so happy that we are doing these cook ups...I think of you every timeSweet Friend! Bon Appetit and Loveto you, Dzintra xo

Dear Irina,
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to try these smoky tomato pan eggs. I love eggs, and never thought of putting a little paprika in them. Sometimes I eat them with a dash of salsa, yummy. The chocolate cake is another eye pleaser. I didn't get a chance to do the link party this year, as July is a crazy busy month for us, but I did enjoy going to my favorite blogs and seeing a bit of Europe through everyone else.
I hope you have a splendid week.
love,
~Sheri
Irina, I don't know how I could've missed this, but I'm so happy to see what you've been up to. And I wish I could've tagged along with you on this magical journey of food, fun and balloons. I love balloons.
ReplyDeleteAnd who doesn't love Donna Hay (in fact, there is no angry way to say her name).
I've been spending this summer taking mini vacations, but none as exciting as your 'trip' to Europe. Thank you for the smiles dear Paloma.
Irina Dear, What a delightful post! I'm so glad to be back to blogging...I missed you! Your photos are amazing and the food looks so scrumptious...now I want to try eggs in tomato sauce! Have a wonderful rest-of-the-week, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Anne
Oh I'm so sorry for missing the party :( Have been on a mini blog break.....savoring these days of summer. That iced mocha looks sooooooo yummy and refreshing! I'll be very happy just having that - can I come over? :) Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love the spirit of your celebrations! ALways a visual extravaganza - not to mention a culinary one as well! Enjoy every moment of the rest of your summer dear friend!

Irina! Good morning. Thank you for coming by my new post! Those eggs look wonderful! I just bought some smoked paprika to use per your good advice, for my salmon stew. As the weather gets cooler, that dish will be the first thing I make using the new ingredient!
ReplyDeleteMUCH LOVE!
Irina,
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the pumpkin spice latte yet, but Jess had one when we went to Starbucks the other day. She sipped it slowly and said it was delicious. I am wondering if the pumpkin cheesecake muffins are a bit different this year? They had a few nuts sprinkled on top and they didn't taste quite like last years.
Thank you for coming to visit, I do love to hear your sweet words.
Happy Autumn coming to you. :~)
~Sheri
I am off to check your other lovely blogs now. I will be delighted to see a new post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat is was to see you had come for a visit.. Thank you, dear Irina, for your most kind words.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well.
Wishing you a beautiful week.
fondly,
Penny
Irina, I was certain I had commented on Belvoir, the last time I sashayed through your charming blog. In any case, with your help, I was able to track it down. I loved it, and wished I would've purchased the whole lot, because I'm greedy that way.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a happy Friday, and every day thereafter!
