C'est Magnifique!

Un grand MERCI to the most gracious and beautiful hostess of the
"Simply Irresistible:France" party....
Anita....tu es magnifique!

Un grand MERCI to all of the wonderful participants...your posts were creative, dreamy, and inspirational...and I am so grateful for the new blog friends I have made....

Vous etes magnifiques!

Un grand MERCI to my dear blog friend Dzintra...her invitation to create Donna Hay cook-ups together has led me to
a glorious new culinary adventure....

Dzintra, dear, tu es magnifique!

I'm a bit behind this month....please visit Dzintra here
to see her beautiful salad.

Amazingly we cooked from the same issue this time! If you are not familiar with this Australian cooking maven's magazine, do check it out at your local book store. It is gorgeous, and the recipes I have tried are unique and so delicious.....

 Coriander (cilantro) Pesto Potato Salad

You can find the recipe here.
Oh my, this was SO GOOD!
If you like cilantro, you will love this....the cucumbers add crunch to this refreshing, yet filling salad, and I garnished with smoked salmon (always a favorite at our house) instead of the vibrant shiso leaves listed in the recipe. I wish I knew where to buy this herb....
please click on the link if you would like to learn more.
Have you ever tried shiso? I would love to know what it tastes like!

And for dessert.....

Carmelised Peach, Brioche, and Maple Sundae

oh, wow....that is all I'll say...please let me know if you'd like the recipe, and I will leave it on your blog....

And last, but certainly not least...
Un grand MERCI to all of my followers, readers, and dear blog friends!
This Monday, May 27th, marks my 2nd year of is an understatement when I say that this experience has changed and enriched my life beyond all expectations.
Thank You!!!

Vous etes magnifiques! :)

La Fete au Cafe Gypsy

Bienvenue les amis!

It's time for La Fete!

 I warmly welcome you to
"Cafe Gypsy"

 enjoy our music

 Please make yourself comfortable...

As our most special and honored guest, you are invited on a petit gastronomic tour...

We shall begin with the luxurious Cote d'Azur!

Bon Appetit!

The spectacular "Blue Coast" of the French Riviera is known for sublime weather, glamour, and fresh local delicacies...

This delightful Salade Nicoise is most refreshing
on a balmy Riviera evening...

Please enjoy a sparkling glass of Perrier au Citron, a perfect accompaniment to the brisk sea air....

Let your taste buds now travel north
to the glorious Emerald Coast of La Bretagne....

May we tempt you with a couple of local specialties?

A colder climate requires hardier crepes, n'est-ce pas?
These lovely "galettes de ble noir", or "crepes Bretons" are made in part with buckwheat flour, and are filled with sauteed, dilled mushrooms, and fromage Madrigal...
Certainly, no proper meal of galettes is complete without an ice-cold cider made from the best apples in France....

This one happens to be alcohol-free, for we know you have a long drive ahead of you...

But before continuing on your "Simply Irresistible" adventure, please allow us to cap off the meal in....

And what could this quintessentially Parisian dessert possibly be?

Les macarons, of course!
Which flavors will you choose?

Ah yes, the classics....chocolat, fraise, et pistache...magnifique!

To accompany these colorful sweets, please enjoy un cafe under the sparkling and romantic Parisian moon and stars....

And to thank you for your most kind visit
to Cafe Gypsy, I would love to give away
Jamie Cat Callan's brand new book!

"Ooh La La" will be released May 28th...
I'll draw the winner May 25th!
Just leave me a comment, and I will enter you in the drawing...
Bonne Chance et Merci!!

Thank you, dear and beautiful Anita, for allowing us all to connect with each other in this fun and fabulous way!
